Biodiversity Builders at MEES 2023!

Last week Jean and Skye presented a workshop at the Mass Environmental Education Society 2023 Conference (MEES 2023) at Holy Cross in Worcester. The workshop “If you plant it they will come! Designing a pollinator Garden in 1 hour” was well attended with 40 enthusiastic participants who got right down to business and helped us test out a new curriculum activities for future Biodiversity Builders (SM) Students. Jean started out with an overview of the importance of native plants and the native plant-pollinator connection, and Skye led the group in designing gardens on templates she created and utilizing cards that we at DNP have made. We are so grateful to our peers who asked questions, provided feedback, and joined us in designing their own pollinator gardens as well as the MEES staff for coordinating the event and all the other environmental educators who led amazing workshops. We were both able to attend some crucial discussions around watershed, food accessibility in schools, teaching green infrastructure and more!
